Advancing a Global Indigenous Tourism Network
The World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening Indigenous tourism worldwide. As a global network, WINTA fosters collaboration between Indigenous communities, tourism leaders, and industry stakeholders to ensure Indigenous-led tourism thrives while preserving cultural integrity.
WINTA aims to ‘Empower Indigenous tourism through cultural leadership, sustainable development, and global collaboration.’ It achieves this by advocating for Indigenous rights in tourism, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and attracting investment to support the growth of Indigenous tourism enterprises worldwide.
WINTA supports the vision ‘To establish Indigenous tourism as a global movement that respects and celebrates the world’s Indigenous cultures, lands, and knowledge systems.’ This is achieved by strengthening international partnerships, influencing tourism policies, and ensuring that Indigenous voices lead the future of sustainable tourism.
